Nearly once a week, since 2015, a group of performing artists and photographers have gathered to hang out and create their art in, and on, the streets of Los Angeles.
The group’s Instagram, @TFTI_LA, is just one of several photo street meets here in LA. TFTI is by far the most active. Crowds of 50-300 gather, typically mid-week at various locations, around 8PM. Coming to the meet-ups guarantees you’ll run into old friends, and without a doubt, meet new ones. There is a lot of positive energy out here and that keeps the group going.
You can shoot a beautiful model posed next to a car, right next to a clown covered in blood, and across the street, a fire breather is spiting fireballs into the air! The group presents a huge mix of talent, with a variety of skills and at various levels of experience. You may see a seasoned pro with top of the line gear shooting right next to someone using their cell phone. Some come just for the show and to watch in wonderment and not capture any images. Who wouldn’t want to enjoy being around and hanging out with such positive people?!
My advice, next time you’re in LA, come out and meet up with us, as chance are, we’ll be on the streets shooting.
