If scanning the Elan Vital features didn’t put you in a “feel good” mood, fret not, Staff Photographer Gio Rhivers sat down with gorgeous model Sulu to chat about herself and her modeling. Gio: Give us a little background about you?
Sulu: Originally I am from Kazakhstan. I moved to the United States 5 years ago. I have a degree in Philology/ Translating. I speak 3 and a half languages: Kazakh, Russian, English and some Turkish . I love dancing, drawing, swimming and socializing.
Gio: What’s something that everyone doesn’t know about you?
Sulu: I watch Disney channel every day.
Gio: What do you hope to achieve in 2018?
Sulu: Well, it is already March…I will start next year lol
Gio:What’s the best part about modeling?
Sulu: Gaining confidence and meeting new people.
Gio: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Sulu: Somewhere by the beach with more dogs!
Gio: Do you ever get nervous before a shoot?
Sulu: No. As far as I am concerned. I pose and act like I always would. The only difference is that now there is a camera and lights.
Gio: Most embarrassing thing that has happened to you on the shoot?
Sulu: I was trying to jump from the side of the pool onto a floatable swan. I completely missed it and hit the water in front of the whole crew present.
Gio: What was your biggest accomplishment in modeling?
Sulu: I learned the value of loving myself and do it every day now.
Gio: If you could change something from a year ago, what would it be?
Sulu: I would not change a thing. Every experience of my life so far has made me who I am.
Gio: What is your favorite genre in modeling and what would you not do in modeling?
Sulu: I love fantasy and glamour shoots. I have always loved stories and fairytales and the privilege of bringing those things to reality means the world to me. I would not do nude shoots. I began to model to have fun and gain confidence in myself and shoots like that would do neither for me
Gio: What are your turn ons and turn offs?
Sulu: Intelligence is my turn on. Anything the otherwise is a huge turn off.
Gio: What would you describe as the perfect date?
Sulu: I love going into nature if anything. The quality of person is the important part. No dates with a person I don’t find fun.
Gio: what do you look for in a partner?
Sulu: I do not look for anyone to begin with.
Gio: What is the hardest part for you in this industry and how are you overcoming it?
Sulu: Being able to say no to things that I don’t want to do and deciding what would be in the best interests for me. I just look at pros and cons and decide from there.
